Description: Spiracles very large, as long as eyes; teeth minute and very numerous. First dorsal fin extremely long, at least as long as caudal fin, low and broadly rounded above.

BIOLOGICAL FEATURES
Size: Size at birth 90 cm (range 70 and 140 cm); maximum length: male 269 cm (total length); female 295.0 cm (TL).
Reproduction: Ovoviviparous, embryos feeding on yolk sac and other ova produced by the mother, uterine milk is consumed additionally. Pups number 2 to 4 in a litter; size at birth between 70 and 140 cm (TL).
Maturity: range 210 - 295 cm.
Behavioural ecology: Inactive and sluggish.
