Description: A small deepwater shark with an extremely long, flat snout, and huge iridescent green or yellow eyes. Large pitchfork-shaped denticles make the skin extremely rough. Very long and low first dorsal fin. No subcaudal keel on caudal peduncle, and no anal fin. Very dark brown or grey in colour; fins slightly darker.
Global Distribution: Central Eastern Atlantic: Madeira. Northwest Pacific: Japan.
