Description: Body elongate, deep, compressed anteriorly. Head short, massive, with a convex dorsal profile. Snout slightly longer than that of M. helena. Uniformly black colouration.
Global Distribution: Insular distribution, restricted to the archipelagos of the Azores, Madeira, Canary Islands, and Cape Verde.
