Description: A deep-water morid fish. Compressed body, tapering posteriorly. Dark brown with a slight mauve hue on the body, head and fins; belly lighter. With chin barbel. First dorsal fin with one of more notably elongate rays.
Global Distribution: Eastern Atlantic: Madeira and St. Helena. Also reported from Hawaii.
