Description: Body robust and elongated, rounded anteriorly and compressed posteriorly. Large head, ending in a blunt conical snout. Small eyes. Long barbel on chin.
Global Distribution: North-eastern Atlantic, including west Ireland, west and north coasts of Spain, Portugal, Madeira, Canary Islands, Azores, and the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.
